Must-Have Baby Items for New Parents

Welcoming a new baby into your life can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to buying all the necessary baby items. With so many options available, it can be hard to know what you really need. Here is a list of some must-have baby items for new parents to get you started on your registry!

  1. Diapers and Wipes

Diapers and wipes are essential for any new parent. Stock up on plenty of diapers in different sizes and invest in a good supply of wipes to make sure you're prepared for any messes. Personally, I used pampers with my last two, as they have a reward program app that I liked also. Don’t forget to use your registry discount from Amazon!

  2. Baby Clothes

Your baby will go through multiple outfits in a day, so it's important to have plenty of clothes on hand. Look for clothes that are comfortable, easy to put on and take off, and made from soft materials. Here are some great basics to get you started: SEE HERE

  3. Baby Carrier or Wrap

A baby carrier or wrap is a great way to keep your baby close and your hands free. Look for one that is comfortable for both you and your baby and can be adjusted as your baby grows. I have used Lilliebaby, Boba, Solly, and Happy Baby, and Wildbird, they are all different in their own ways. CARRIER

You can also seek out help from local group, Greater St. Louis Babywearing HERE. They have 135 carriers to choose from! SEE HERE

  4. Car Seat

A car seat is an essential item for any new parent. Look for a car seat that is easy to install and meets all safety standards. I have always been a big fan of Graco car seats and have had several over the years. I love the slim fit style and I know rotating car seats have been increasingly popular lately. CAR SEATS

  5. Stroller

A stroller is another essential item for new parents. Look for one that is easy to fold and maneuver, and that fits your lifestyle and needs. STROLLERS I have a Wonderfold W4 Wagon, and we absolutely love it. WAGON

  8. Diaper Bag

A good diaper bag is essential for carrying all the necessary items when you're on the go with your baby. Look for one that has plenty of pockets and compartments, and that is comfortable to carry. I personally have a backpack style for my kids. SEE HERE

  9. Baby Bathing Supplies

Bathing your baby can be a fun and bonding experience. Invest in a baby bathtub, washcloths, and baby soap to make bath time easy and enjoyable. BATH ITEMS

  10. Swaddles and Blankets

Swaddles and blankets are essential for keeping your baby warm and cozy. Look for ones made from soft, breathable materials that won't irritate your baby's skin. Sleep sacks are perfect for overnights in the crib. I personally love all things from Kyte Baby, but particularly their sleep sacks: KYTE BABY ON AMAZON

  11. Changing table

Changing tables are particularly helpful for not only changing baby of course, but storing extra baby supplies. I personally have been using this one for 4+ years, and just transitioned it in our toy room to a toy holder/organizer. It’s been great! DELTA CHANGING TABLE

***BONUS***
Papaya reusable paper towels! Although there aren’t a “baby” item, they are really incredible! One sheet replaces 17 rolls of paper towels! They can be used for kitchen clean up, bathroom clean up, sticky baby hands and faces, highchairs, and just basically everywhere.
